To lead the churches in obedience thereto is today the most stubborn, heart-breaking task to which Christian men are called. For this work of world-wide missions is our task, the universal reign of Messiah our final aim, and his "well done" our coveted reward. Though the churches have moved with lagging steps, and tardy hands have toiled, yet the fields have been sown, and the first fruits gathered give pledge of a harvest so rich that earth and heaven shall yet over-flow with joy. Consider therefore, the definite pointing of the Leading Facts and Figures of their Report In the seven countries, Africa, Argentine, Brazil, China, Italy, Japan and Mexico, where we through our Board are conducting work, we have 380 churches, with 833 out-stations, 30,000 church members, 542 Sunday Schools with 22,000 scholars enrolled. We have also 9,376 students in our mission schools, 420 of whom are in the theological seminaries and training schools, seeking special preparation for Christian work. 5,252 converts have been baptised, the largest number ever reported for a single year. 720 more than the year before.
