The extension of the admiralty jurisdiction over the interior waters of the country has ren dered this branch of the general' subject of importance to the legal profession everywhere. In many of the states there are also statutory provisions under which liens somewhat analogous to admiralty liens are given for the redress of common law wrongs, and this treatise ought to do, and it is believed will do something towards bringing about uniformity in state laws.
