Lippmann was twice awarded (1958 and 1962) a Pulitzer Prize for his syndicated newspaper column, '¬SToday and Tomorrow'¬. He wrote '¬SA Preface to Politics'¬ in 1913. Amazingly, his views are still extremely relevant almost 100 years later. Here is an excerpt from the book. '¬SThe issue of good-and-bad-men interests this nation to the exclusion of almost all others. But experience shows, I believe, that it is a fruitless conflict and a wasting enthusiasm.
