“Adultery happens more often than we want to admit. And Christian couples are not exempt from the threat of this potential devastation. If not dealt with, it can leave lifelong emotional wounds. In There IS NO Gray, Melanie boldly shares her personal heart-wrenching story of having committed adultery. She takes you on an intimate journey through her own account of falling into the trap of adultery, hitting rock-bottom, facing the aftermath, and ultimately choosing restoration. Her ability to be so openly vulnerable with such a difficult topic will give you a safe space to address your own individual circumstances. With the help of her humorous small-town Texas girl stories, she eases the tension of the subject while addressing the painful process of recovery. Through deep self-reflection and Biblical study, she will help you navigate your own path to complete emotional and spiritual healing. A few words to describe her style are relatable, authentic, and truthfully liberating. With biblical study and application throughout the book, Melanie will help you: Identify and address emotional triggers that can make you susceptible to the temptation of adultery. Look beyond the surface-level problems to discover the root causes of both personal and marital relationship issues. Break free from the shame and guilt of adultery and other past mistakes. Learn how to apply Scripture to your life through a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. Grow in your understanding of God’s love and grace for you, regardless of your past. Walk in true freedom and repentance.”

Since we first arrived on the planet, we’ve been telling each other stories, whether of that morning’s great saber-tooth tiger hunt or the latest installment of the Star Wars saga. And throughout our history, despite differences of geography or culture, we’ve been telling those stories in essentially the same way. Why? Because there is a RIGHT way to tell a story, one built into our very DNA. In his seminal work Poetics, Aristotle identified the patterns and recurring elements that existed in the successful dramas of his time as he explored precisely why we tell stories, what makes a good one, and how to best tell them. In Classical Storytelling and Contemporary Screenwriting, Brian Price examines Aristotle’s conclusions in an entertaining and accessible way and then applies those guiding principles to the most modern of storytelling mediums, going from idea to story to structure to outline to final pages and beyond, covering every relevant screenwriting topic along the way. The result is a fresh new approach to the craft of screenwriting—one that’s only been around a scant 2,500 years or so—ideal for students and aspiring screenwriters who want a comprehensive step-by-step guide to writing a successful screenplay the way the pros do it.

In 2004 I joined a writing group run by two lectures from The University of East Anglia. The result of which is my book The Green Leaves of Winter a collection of short stories and poems. The stories and poems are mostly humorous, serious, horrific with a strong sexual element. The inclusion of the poems breaks up the stories making the book a more interesting read. The stories range from bare fist fighting, naughty Nuns, Black Shuck the devils dog, even god trying to make prettier bums for his angels, and a dog on trial trying to stop them removing his nuts ! Truly a strange story collection.

Author Deb Valainis has always felt the need to write even from an early age. When asked to write the children's messages for her church to present during their Sunday morning worship services, Deb was honored. As she sat to write each week's message, she felt each one to be God-inspired with each one being tied to Bible scriptures. She was pleasantly surprised to see that the messages seemed to have such a positive impact on children and adults alike. An animated storyteller, Deb made each story come alive, often using props and hands-on interaction with the children. Oftentimes, individuals would ask her where she acquired her stories and how people might get copies of them. She was encouraged to put them into a book format for others to share and enjoy. So having accumulated quite a large number of these messages or short stories, Deb was finally convinced to combine a few of them into this first book in the hopes that they might serve to inspire others. Whether used as a story time aid or as part of a family devotional, her hope and prayer is that they will encourage others to read their Bibles each day, as they seek a closer relationship with God and strive to follow His teachings. 3
