According to author Rich Brott, the topic of tithing on your increase always relates to your entire life and all that you are concerned with. It's not strictly a financial issue. We have much to give that is far more valuable than money. We have our time, our commitment, our attitude, our gifting, our energy, our service, our talent, our assets, our devotion and our entire life. Yet in all that we have to offer, our attitude toward our finances does play an important role and affects the other areas of our life. Your role in receiving the blessings of God is all about you keeping only a needed portion of God's blessing and returning a large portion of the blessing so that others can be blessed as well. We should become resourceful and efficient stewards of all the possessions God has sent our way.

The Trojan Horse Of Tithing is a plea to Christian leaders, written from a Charismatic/Pentecostal perspective. Jonathan Brenneman exposes the inherent problems with common tithe teachings, highlighting serious issues with even so-called "grace tithing." He demonstrates how deception starts subtly and documents the growing acceptance in mainstream Christianity of even overt teachings of salvation by tithing. Millions of people today now believe they will never even enter heaven without their tithes. No matter how much we try to dress tithe teachings up as grace, they continue to be the root of serious problems. The arguments contained here against the modern tithe tradition are thorough, compelling, and overwhelming. The gospel is worth giving not only our money, but even our lives to promote. However, modern tithe traditions have no place in this because they are not based on truth and misrepresent the way God relates to people. Rather than helping to advance, the gospel, they distort it. God is calling his church to get rid of the leaven and return to a powerful and pure gospel message! The Trojan Horse of Tithing is one of the most comprehensive overviews of multiple arguments against tithing. Few books make such a compelling case as to why tithing is incompatible with the gospel, or deal so thoroughly with less logical but emotionally powerful objections such as "but tithing works!" We include: -What could have possibly convinced strong proponents of tithing such as Derek Prince to change their minds?-Documentation and evidence of the extent of literal "salvation by tithing" doctrine in today's churches, and demonstration that this is the logical implication of even many of the most common so-called "grace tithing" teachings.-Dozens of serious logical problems with all of the common pro-tithing arguments.-A historical study on Melchizedeck and the related terms "El Elyon," "Zedek," "Salem," "Heaven," and "Earth."-11 commandments of God that churches regularly break for their tithe tradition.-9 serious problems with using Malachi as support for Christian tithing.-The history of tithing.-Contrast between the Babylonian tithe and the Jewish tithe. Which is our modern tithe tradition based on?-How the modern tithe tradition violates the statutes and the basic principles of the Jewish tithe.-What tithing and witchcraft have in common.-How tithing undermines Spirit-led giving.-How people are stepping into supernatural giving and supernatural provision without the tithe.-The historical and cultural context of ministerial support in scripture.-Why some of the world's most successful church planters see tithing as a hindrance to church multiplication.-How tithe teachings promote a poverty spirit.-A prophetic dream for the church.

Although it is better to give than to receive, giving is harder for most people. Giving is not only good stewardship; it enables the church to help those in need. Respected Christian financial expert Larry Burkett uses God's Word to show the strong biblical basis for giving to and serving in the church. Using benevolence ministries as an example, Burkett explains how God uses Christians to minister in His name. This is accomplished by giving back to God a portion of what He has graciously given.

This book has been in the making for 50 years; ever since Thomas Moore found a germ within the tithing doctrine that departed from the Living God. Thomas set out in 1973 to expose where this germ corrupts the basic doctrines of the New Testament, but in so doing he found that he needed to acquire a full understanding of all the primary Christian doctrines. This required reading the entire Bible from cover to cover many times in different translations, as well as compiling an extensive theology library. Years were spent reading entire commentaries, word studies, and systematic theology by various scholars, along with sermons and lessons from the greatest preachers of all time. In 2015 the author finished following the tithing germ through every school of theology and discovered the specific truths of Scripture being violated. In 2015 he began writing the book to refute each false teaching that supports the false doctrine of tithing and expose all of its fallacies, heresies and blasphemies, which was published in November of 2019 as Living Waters from Difficult Passages. The book is very thorough. It not only exposes the heresies and blasphemies, but also contains the popular verses of Scripture that pastor’s abuse, in order to support the tithing practice. This made the book almost 500 pages long. Many people are not interested in a book that large, so the author developed this book as a companion book, which is a quick and easy read; just covering the basic blasphemies of the religious tithing teaching. If reading TITHINGISM peaks your interest for more insights and Biblical evidence into the false teachings of the tithing tradition, then Living Waters from Difficult Passages will satisfy completely.

Let's face it. Church isn't working. We hear sermons about the abundant life Jesus promised, but how many of us are actually living it? How many of our churches are thriving? How many people in our congregations are experiencing God's blessings? Maybe it's time to call it quits. Quit church? Well, not exactly. Drawing from his experience coaching hundreds of churches toward true growth, Chris Sonksen calls on us to quit our casual, cultural commitment to church as we know it. No more half-hearted attempts to win the favor of God and other people by doing the right thing. No more doing things out of a sense of duty. Instead, Sonksen reveals the spiritual habits that release the blessings of God, both on each individual and on the church. He explains why we struggle to put these practices into action and gives practical solutions to move us forward into health, growth, and maturity.

What is the biblical position about tithing? When gathering together all individual verses and passages about tithing specific and about giving in general, are Christian people commanded to tithe? Many Christian people ardently believe so. They bend over backwards to make sure that no expenses interfere with their tithe to their church. This includes ordained pastors and Bible scholars such as seminary professors. On the other hand, most Christian people do not tithe. And some pastors and scholars teach and preach that tithing is not a biblical norm or requirement for Christians. In summary, they say that Old Testament law does not apply to New Testament Christians, and the New Testament giving emphasis is on ability and cheerfulness, rather than on fixed percentages. So what is the proper interpretation and application of tithing passages from the Holy Bible for New Testament Christians today? In the first edition of this book, I gathered together many passages about tithing, analyzed them in their context, and concluded that tithing is the proper standard for Christians. In this second edition, I have gathered material from authors who preach and write from a counter viewpoint. These authors are degreed clergy and scholars. I am just an ordinary church layman as you are. What did I find after further research on the tithing subject? Read and discover! Give as you have prayerfully concluded that you should.
