Five Short Pieces Op. 15, was originally written for flute and orchestra and later arranged by Mouquet into a sonata for flute and piano. Mouquet was a contemporary of Debussy. Many of his works are reminiscent of Ancient Greek Mythology. Mouquet graduated from the Paris Conservatory where he studied under Xavier Leroux and Theodore Dubois.
